There are several advances are being made in the treatment of hepatitis B including:
- Possible functional cures and
- New medical procedures.
Currently, TherVacB and GSK's bepiroversin are working on a therapeutic vaccine that is being evaluated in clinical trials. Precision Biosciences is also exploring gene-editing therapies such as PBGENE-HBV for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, with preclinical data supporting repeated dosing.
While some other research firms focus on:
- Epigenetic mechanisms,
- Targeting cccDNA,
- Monoclonal antibodies,
- Gene therapy,
- Use of RNA-based therapies.
Precision Biosciences, a clinical-stage gene editing company, is developing an in vivo gene editing therapy for chronic hepatitis B, called PBGENE-HBV.
In this video, I would like to inform you about the new research and development for the treatment and cure of Hepatitis B. Please watch this video till the end.
